Department of Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering at NSUT West Campus was established in 2007 as Ch. Brahm Prakash Government Engineering College, Jaffarpur. The first batch of B.Tech (Civil Engineering) students graduated in 2011. Known for its exceptionally strong undergraduate program, the department has expanded its academic offerings with the launch of a Postgraduate program in Environmental Engineering and research programs in Environmental Engineering from the academic session 2020–21. Building on this growth, a Postgraduate program in Structural Engineering commenced from the academic session 2023–24.

Since its inception, the department has produced high-quality civil engineering graduates who excel in academics, research and professional practice. Eminent professors, appointed by the Delhi Government, have served as principals and faculty members, contributing significantly to the department’s development. With a team of highly dedicated faculty, the department continues to provide quality engineering education and has a culture of research and innovation. The department currently has 10 distinguished faculty members. The department also provides consultancy services to various bodies such as CPWD, PWD, DTTDC, UPRNN, DDA, UPPCL, UPJN etc.

Beyond academics, the department actively encourages students' participation and excellence in sports, cultural activities and literary pursuits, ensuring their overall development.
